Dr. Gregory B. Fitzgerald has been practicing in the Birmingham / Troy area since 2001.
He received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Michigan State University. He graduated with Honors from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, with a Master of Science Degree in Human Anatomy and Cellular Biology. Dr. Fitzgerald graduated at the top of his class from Wayne State University School of Medicine. He completed his internship and Ophthalmology residency at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan. Since 2002, Dr. Fitzgerald has been a board-certified Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Gregory Fitzgerald has been performing vision correction surgery since 2000 when he learned his technique during residency training. Dr. Gregory Fitzgerald currently teaches at William Beaumont Hospital and works with the residents to help them develop their surgical proficiency. He is also an Assistant Clinical Professor at Oakland University William Beaumont Medical School.
Dr. Fitzgerald, a board-certified ophthalmologist, is a past President and former executive board member for the Michigan Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons, a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Michigan State Medical Society, the Oakland County Medical Society and the American Society for Cataract and Refractive Surgery. In 2007 and 2009, Gregory Fitzgerald, MD, was selected as one of “America’s Top Ophthalmologists” by the Consumers’ Research Council of America. He also was selected by his peers to be included in Hour Detroit Magazine’s “Top Doc” issue for the past several years.
Dr. Fitzgerald prides himself on giving complete and personal care to all of his LASIK and cataract patients. He finds the capability to change the lives of his patients both rewarding and satisfying.
