CARL F. CLAVENNA, M.D.

Dr. Carl F. Clavenna is an acclaimed LASIK specialist who helps patients achieve stunningly clear vision through advanced laser vision correction methods. He received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Albion College in Albion, Michigan. He graduated as Valedictorian from Georgetown University in Washington D.C., with a Master’s of Science Degree in Human Physiology and Biophysics. Dr. Clavenna graduated as Valedictorian from the Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit. He completed both an internship in Internal Medicine and his residency in Ophthalmology at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan. Since 1993 Dr. Clavenna has been a board certified fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Carl Clavenna has been performing vision correction surgery since 1993. He currently teaches at William Beaumont Hospital and is actively involved in the development of its excimer laser program, teaching refractive and cataract surgery to Ophthalmology residents for many years. He is also an Assistant Clinical Professor at Oakland University William Beaumont Medical School. Carl Clavenna, MD, is a member of the following associations: American Board of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, International Society of Refractive Surgery, Michigan Keratorefractive Society, Michigan Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons, Michigan State Medical Society, and Oakland County Medical Society. In 2007 and 2009, Dr. Carl Clavenna was selected as one of America’s Top Ophthalmologists by the Consumers’ Research Council of America. He also was selected by his peers to be included in Hour Detroit Magazine’s “Top Doc” issue for the past several years.
In October 1999, Dr. Clavenna underwent vision correction surgery to correct his nearsightedness. With the help of his personal experience with vision correction procedures he has a better understanding and compassion for his patients concerns and needs. He is dedicated to providing both the quality of care and technical skill his patients deserve. Dr. Clavenna is committed to personalizing vision care by avoiding the assembly line type of care provided by so many others.
GREGORY B. FITZGERALD, M.D.

Dr. Gregory B. Fitzgerald has been practicing in the Birmingham / Troy area since 2001. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Michigan State University. He graduated with Honors from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, with a Master’s of Science Degree in Human Anatomy and Cellular Biology. Dr. Fitzgerald then graduated at the top of his class from Wayne State University School of Medicine. He completed both his internship and residency in Ophthalmology at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan. Since 2002, Dr. Fitzgerald has been a board-certified Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Gregory Fitzgerald has been performing vision correction surgery since 2000 when he learned his technique during residency training. Dr. Gregory Fitzgerald currently teaches at William Beaumont Hospital and works with the residents to help them develop their surgical proficiency. He is also an Assistant Clinical Professor at Oakland University William Beaumont Medical School.
Dr. Fitzgerald, a board-certified ophthalmologist, is a past President and former executive board member for the Michigan Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons, a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Michigan State Medical Society, the Oakland County Medical Society and the American Society for Cataract and Refractive Surgery. BIANCA BILEK, O.D.
Dr. Bianca Bilek received her Bachelor of Science from the University of Michigan in 2011. In 2012 she began her study at the Illinois College of Optometry. While attending Optometry school she received many honors and was a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa Honors Society.
Dr. Bilek completed an externship at the Kresge Eye Institute where she gained valuable experience, fitted specialty lenses and treated ocular disease. While doing her externship at the Illinois Eye Institute she honed her skills working with soft and RGP contact lenses. During her externship at Alivio Clinic, Dr. Bilek treated Spanish speaking patients and was able to complete comprehensive exams in Spanish.
Dr. Bianca Bilek comes to the Clavenna Vision Institute from the Henry Ford Health System. While working at Henry Ford she provided a full scope of optometric care to a wide range of patients. As a Doctor of Optometry, she is committed to ongoing professional education, utilizing the very best technology, and providing the most effective care to her patients.
